What is it?
Nitro-LM is our proprietary, and commercially available, license server service for software applications. Nitro-LM is a Floating License Server that uses a Web Service to eliminate the complexities of distributing and managing customer licenses.
How does it work?
Nitro-LM can be purchased either as a "hosted" or stand-alone solution. Nitro-LM enables customers to self-manage their products and accounts easily without dealing with the complexities of integrating a solution within their corporate environment or implementing a dedicated systems approach to managing their software. It is a Web Service model, so it only requires a few pieces of information to integrate with your applications. Basically the process is this:
- Identify the location of the Web Service (e.g. on your network or using our hosted service)
- identify the product you want to check out a license for
- identify how long you want it for (e.g. hours, days, weeks, etc.)
- get the license.
- enjoy your software!
Why not FlexLM?
FlexLM has been the industry standard for many companies (e.g. PTC and others) that have wanted to distribute and manage their software licenses. FlexLM is expensive, can be difficult to install and configure, and often overly complex to understand an implement within applications you create. Not to mention that FlexLM is often cracked within days/weeks of its release. Nitro-LM is a fraction of the price, and at least 10x easier to use.
